Marketing Tools & Calculators
Marketing decisions come down to a handful of ratios: what a click costs, what a sale is worth, and whether the gap between them is positive. These tools work those numbers out from the figures your ad manager or analytics already shows you.
They cover paid ads (ROAS, CPM, CPC, CTR), search (SERP previews and UTM tracking), social (engagement rate across platforms) and creator income (YouTube and AdSense). Each one is free and runs without an account.

Paid ads: know your break-even before you scale
A ROAS figure on its own says little. A 3x return is excellent for a product with a 70% margin and a loss for one with a 25% margin. The ROAS Calculator works out your break-even ROAS from your margin (1 divided by margin) and the target cost per acquisition you can afford, so you can judge a campaign against your own economics rather than a generic benchmark. Our guide explains ROAS versus ROI and why a 4x ROAS can still lose money.
When results disappoint, step back a level with the CPM, CPC & CTR Calculator. A high CPM points to audience or placement costs; a low CTR points to the creative or the offer; a fine CTR with poor sales points to the landing page. It can also plan a budget backwards from a target number of clicks. For the full picture, including fees and non-ad costs, the ROI Calculator in our finance hub adds ROMI.
Search and tracking
Google cuts titles and descriptions by pixel width, not character count, so a title full of wide letters can be truncated even when it looks short. The SERP Preview Tool shows how a page will appear and flags truncation before you publish. Pair it with the UTM Link Builder whenever you share a link in an email, a social post or a partner's site, so the visit is attributed to the right source in Google Analytics instead of landing in direct traffic.
Agencies and freelancers looking for clients can use Lead Radar to find local businesses worth pitching for SEO and marketing work, with suggested outreach lines.
Social reach and creator earnings
Follower counts are easy to inflate; engagement is harder. The Engagement Rate Calculator works for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn and rates the result against benchmarks, which helps both brands vetting influencers and creators pricing a sponsorship.
For creators, the YouTube Money Calculator estimates daily, monthly and yearly earnings from views and RPM or CPM, including Shorts, and the AdSense Revenue Calculator does the same for websites, or works backwards to the traffic you would need to reach an income goal. Treat both as ranges: RPM varies widely by niche, audience country and season. The most reliable input is your own recent RPM from YouTube Studio or AdSense, not a figure quoted online.
Whatever you measure, measure it the same way each month. A consistent baseline of CPM, CTR, ROAS and engagement is what lets you spot a real change instead of reacting to noise.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good ROAS?
Any ROAS above your break-even point, which is 1 divided by your profit margin. With a 40% margin, break-even ROAS is 2.5x. The ROAS Calculator works this out for you, and the linked guide explains it with examples.
How is CPM different from CPC?
CPM is the cost per 1,000 impressions; CPC is the cost per click. CTR links them: CPC equals CPM divided by (CTR ร 1,000). The CPM, CPC & CTR Calculator fills in whichever one you are missing.
How do I calculate engagement rate on Instagram?
The usual method is likes plus comments (and optionally saves and shares) divided by followers, times 100. The Engagement Rate Calculator supports several methods and platforms and shows how your result compares to benchmarks.
How much does YouTube pay per 1,000 views?
It depends on your RPM, which varies by niche and audience location, and Shorts pay far less than long videos. Enter your own RPM from YouTube Studio into the YouTube Money Calculator for the most realistic estimate.
Why does my title get cut off in Google?
Google truncates titles that exceed a pixel width, so the limit depends on the letters used. Paste your title into the SERP Preview Tool to see where it would be cut.
What are UTM parameters?
Tags added to a URL (source, medium, campaign and optional term and content) that tell Google Analytics where a visit came from. The UTM Link Builder generates them in the correct format.
