Finance & Tax Calculators
Money questions rarely come one at a time. A pay rise raises a tax question, a gold purchase raises a zakat question, and a car loan raises the question of what the bank is really charging. These calculators answer each of those in a few seconds, with the working shown.
They are built for the places our readers live and work: FBR salary slabs for Pakistan, PAYE and National Insurance for the UK, end-of-service gratuity for the UAE, and gold rates per tola in PKR, AED, SAR and INR. Everything runs in your browser, with no sign-up.

Picking the right calculator for the question
Start with what you are actually trying to decide. If you are comparing job offers or checking a payslip, use the Pakistan Salary Tax Calculator or the UK Take-Home Pay Calculator, which turn a gross salary into the monthly amount that reaches your account. If you are leaving a job in the UAE, the UAE Gratuity Calculator works from your basic salary and service dates, which is what the law uses, not your full package.
For borrowing, the Loan EMI Calculator gives the monthly instalment, total interest and a full amortization schedule. Run the same amount at two rates, or two tenures, and the total interest line usually makes the choice obvious. For saving, the Compound Interest Calculator shows how regular deposits grow, and the CAGR Calculator tells you the yearly growth rate that a past result really represents, which is useful for comparing a plot, a stock or a business that grew over different periods.
Business owners will lean on the VAT Tax Calculator (add or remove VAT with country presets), the Profit Margin Calculator (gross, operating and net margin plus markup) and the ROI Calculator. The Percentage Calculator handles everyday sums such as percentage change and reverse percentages.
Zakat and gold: work from today's numbers
Zakat is 2.5% of zakatable wealth held above the nisab, but the nisab itself moves with the price of silver or gold, and the two give very different thresholds. The Zakat Calculator lets you choose either standard and lists cash, gold, silver, stock and investments separately so nothing is double counted.
If part of your wealth is jewellery, value it first with the Gold Price Calculator. It converts between tola, 10 grams and grams for 24k down to 18k, and can add making charges and VAT when you are pricing a purchase rather than valuing what you already own. Use the plain metal value for zakat, not the shop price.
Pick one date each year, your zakat anniversary, and value everything on that day. Gold and silver prices can move a lot in a few months, so a figure saved from last year will give the wrong answer.
Loans: flat rate versus reducing rate
Many car and consumer loans in Pakistan and the Gulf are quoted at a flat rate, which charges interest on the original amount for the whole term even as you repay it. A reducing rate charges interest only on what you still owe. The headline numbers are not comparable: our guide works through why 18% flat is roughly 28.9% on a reducing basis. Before signing, convert the offer and run it through the Loan EMI Calculator so you are comparing like with like.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate income tax on my salary in Pakistan?
Enter your monthly or annual salary in the Pakistan Salary Tax Calculator. It applies the current FBR slabs for salaried individuals and shows yearly tax, monthly deduction and take-home pay. The linked guide walks through the slabs with worked examples.
Should I use the gold or silver nisab for zakat?
Both are used by scholars. The silver nisab is much lower, so more people pass it and pay zakat; the gold nisab is higher. The Zakat Calculator lets you pick either and shows the threshold it is using, so you can follow the view of the scholar you rely on.
Is UAE gratuity based on my full salary?
No. Gratuity under UAE Labour Law is based on your last basic salary, not allowances. The UAE Gratuity Calculator uses basic pay and your service dates, and the guide explains the 21-day and 30-day rates, part years and the cap.
What is the difference between CAGR and ROI?
ROI is the total gain as a percentage of what you put in, regardless of time. CAGR spreads that gain into a steady yearly rate, so a 100% return over two years and over ten years look very different. Use CAGR to compare investments held for different lengths of time.
Does the UK take-home pay calculator include Scottish tax?
Yes. The UK Take-Home Pay Calculator covers income tax, National Insurance, student loan and pension deductions for 2026/27, with an option for Scottish income tax bands.
Are these calculators free?
Yes. Every calculator is free, runs in your browser and needs no account. Results are estimates to help you plan; for filing or legal decisions, confirm with the relevant authority or a qualified adviser.
