- Using the FBA fee for the wrong size tier. A few millimetres or grams can move you up a tier.
- Counting storage for one month when stock actually sits for three or more, especially before Q4.
- Forgetting that in the UK, one-sixth of a VAT-inclusive price is VAT you owe, not revenue.
- Judging ads by ROAS alone. Compare campaign ACoS with your break-even ACoS above.
- βRe-check your FBA fee whenever Amazon announces its annual fee changes or peak-season surcharges.
- βShave packaging size or weight to drop a size tier. It is often the biggest fee saving available.
- βKeep inventory turning: long storage and aged-inventory surcharges quietly eat margin.
- βSet PPC bids so campaign ACoS stays clearly below your break-even ACoS.
Next step: compare with your own store in the Shopify Profit Calculator, or convert ACoS to ROAS with the ROAS Calculator (ROAS = 1 Γ· ACoS).

What is the Amazon FBA Profit Calculator?
The Amazon FBA Profit Calculator shows what you really keep from each unit you sell through Fulfilment by Amazon. Pick your marketplace (Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.ae) and your category, and the calculator applies Amazon's published referral fee rules. That includes the tiered categories where the rate depends on price, such as Beauty, Baby, Clothing, Electronics Accessories and Jewellery, plus the per-item minimum. Add your FBA fulfilment fee, storage, inbound shipping and PPC, and you get net profit per unit, margin, ROI on landed cost, break-even ACoS, break-even price and monthly profit.
Referral fees are the commission Amazon takes on every sale. Most categories charge 15% in the US and UK and 10β15% in the UAE, but several are tiered. US Clothing is 5% up to $15, 10% up to $20 and 17% above. Electronics Accessories charge 15% on the first $100 and 8% on the rest. Amazon also charges the greater of the percentage or a minimum fee per item ($0.30, Β£0.25 or AED 1 in most categories). The tables here come from Amazon's public pricing pages for each marketplace and were last checked in October 2026.
The FBA fulfilment fee depends on your product's exact size tier and shipping weight, and Amazon changes it regularly, sometimes with seasonal surcharges. Rather than risk an out-of-date table, the calculator takes your fee from Amazon's own Revenue Calculator or the fee preview on your listing. Enter it once and everything else is calculated around it. Storage is entered as a monthly cost per unit multiplied by how many months the average unit waits in the warehouse, so slow sellers show their real cost.
VAT matters in the UK (20%) and UAE (5%). If you are VAT-registered, the VAT included in your selling price belongs to the tax authority, so the calculator removes it from revenue and treats Amazon's fees as net of VAT, because you reclaim the VAT on them. If you are not registered, you keep the full price, but the VAT Amazon adds to its fees becomes a real cost. In both cases the referral fee is calculated on the full price the buyer pays. That is the conservative assumption, so your real fee can only be the same or slightly lower.
Worked example (US, Home and Kitchen): a $29.99 product that costs $6.00 plus $0.80 inbound shipping. The referral fee is 15% ($4.50). With a $5.50 FBA fee, $0.15 per month of storage for 2 months and $3.00 of PPC per unit, you keep $9.89 per unit. That is a 33.0% margin and a 145% ROI on landed cost. Break-even ACoS is 43.0%, and the break-even price is about $18.35. At 300 units a month that is about $2,967 profit.
How to Use This Calculator
- 1Choose your marketplace: Amazon US, UK or UAE. The currency, VAT and minimum referral fee switch automatically.
- 2Pick your product category. Choose 'Custom %' if your category isn't listed or Amazon shows a different rate on your listing.
- 3Enter the selling price the buyer pays, your product cost and inbound shipping per unit.
- 4Copy the FBA fulfilment fee for your size tier from Amazon's Revenue Calculator, then add monthly storage, months in storage and PPC per unit.
- 5In the UK or UAE, tell the calculator whether you are VAT-registered.
- 6Read net profit, margin, ROI, break-even ACoS and break-even price, then use the sensitivity table to test price changes.
