Upwork & Fiverr Fee Calculator
Find out how much of your Upwork, Fiverr or direct-client earnings reaches your bank in PKR, AED or INR after platform fees, withdrawal charges, FX margin and tax.
Upwork's fee is variable, 0โ15% per contract, and is shown before you send a proposal or accept an offer. 10% is only a starting point; enter the rate on your contract.
Payoneer's pricing page lists 1.2%โ4% for withdrawals that involve a currency conversion. Your exact rate is under Settings โ Fees in your account. Blank fields count as 0. Fill in other methods too to compare them.
No live feed. Enter today's mid-market or open-market rate.
- โOn Upwork, check the fee on each contract before you send a proposal. Long-running clients can come with a lower rate.
- โCompare the rate your provider gives you with the open-market rate on the same day. That gap is often bigger than the visible fee.
- โWithdrawing larger amounts less often keeps fixed per-withdrawal fees from eating into your earnings.
- โRegister with PSEB and receive payments through a bank to qualify for 0.25% tax instead of 1% under section 154A.

What is the Upwork & Fiverr Fee Calculator?
This Upwork and Fiverr fee calculator follows a payment from the amount a client pays to the rupees that reach your bank account. Several deductions happen along the way: the platform's service fee, the fee for withdrawing to Payoneer, Wise or your bank, the gap between the exchange rate you get and the real market rate, and in Pakistan the section 154A withholding tax on IT export proceeds. Each one looks small, but they add up, and most freelancers only see the total when the money arrives.
Platform fees are the largest deduction, and they differ a lot between platforms. Fiverr keeps 20% of every order. Freelancer.com charges 10% (on fixed-price projects, 10% or US$5, whichever is greater). Upwork dropped its old 20%/10%/5% sliding scale in 2025 and now charges a variable fee of 0% to 15% per contract, which you see before you submit a proposal. Because the Upwork rate changes from contract to contract, the calculator pre-fills 10% (the figure Upwork uses in its own fee calculator) and you should replace it with the rate on your contract. Direct clients who pay you by bank transfer or Wise have no platform fee at all.
The withdrawal step costs more than most people expect, because it has two parts: a visible fee and the exchange-rate margin. Payoneer lists 1.2% to 4% for withdrawals that involve a currency conversion. Wise converts at the mid-market rate and charges an upfront fee instead. A direct SWIFT wire can lose a flat charge to intermediary banks, and your bank then converts at its own buying rate. We don't guess any provider's fee you can't verify. Enter the figures from your account and the calculator compares every method you've filled in, side by side, using your amount and rate.
Worked example: a Pakistani developer bills US$1,000 on Upwork with a 10% contract fee, leaving $900. Say their withdrawal provider charges a $1.50 fixed fee and converts at 2% below the market rate. That leaves $898.50, then $880.53 after the margin. At an open-market rate of Rs 280 per dollar, that is Rs 246,548. If they are PSEB-registered, 0.25% section 154A tax (Rs 616) leaves Rs 245,932 in the bank, an effective total cost of 12.17%. Without PSEB registration the tax is 1% (Rs 2,465) and they receive Rs 244,083. On Fiverr's 20% fee, the same $1,000 with the same withdrawal costs and PSEB rate brings in only Rs 218,561.
Section 154A applies only when you receive the money in Pakistan in PKR as IT or IT-enabled export proceeds through banking channels. It is a final tax at 0.25% for PSEB-registered freelancers and 1% for everyone else, which is the same rate card used on our Pakistan Salary Tax Calculator. If you are in the UAE or India and receive in AED or INR, switch the receiving currency. The calculator then skips the Pakistan tax step and shows your fees and FX losses only.
